Sunday, 30th of October 2011 saw over a hundred bikers roll up at Wexford General Hospital for the annual MAG Wexford “Last Blast Run”. Always a firm favourite with riders near and far, the turnout was fantastic even if the weather forecast wasn’t!
The 170-odd kilometer run included Enniscorthy, Bunclody, Gorey (for lunch to the now famous currant bread and the lovely soup etc.), and then on to Courtown, Kilmuckridge and Curracloe before returning through a downpour to Wexford Hospital where food & refreshments were waiting for the slightly soggy riders. There was the traditional raffle with spot prizes on the day and all proceeds were in aid of St. Gabriel’s Paediatric Ward in Wexford General Hospital.
A massive thank you to all the ladies and gents who helped put it all together on the day. Many thanks also to all the bike/car marshals, collectors, Alan for his car which lead the run with “The Diabetic Babes on Tour” from St Gabriels Ward, and Sue for the van (just in case of break downs!). Last but not least, thanks to the staff of Wexford General Hospital who gave generously of their time.
Cheque presentation will take place in Whitford House Hotel, Sat 19th November, 9.00 pm.
