Calling riders in the North East – You are invited to a free open Road Safety Awareness Day in organised by An Garda Síochána and The Joint Policing Committee on Sunday 13th July from 11am to 5pm. The event will be held at Fr. Connolly Way, Drogheda.
This is a free open family friendly event with highlights as follows:
- The Garda station will be open to the public.
- Local Garda Traffic Corps Gatso Van and Go Safe Van, hand held speed detecting equipment, crash scene investigating unit, command control center, equestrian unit, canine unit, and Garda helicopter will be in attendance.
- The Garda motorcycle instructors are coming up from Templemore to do a demonstration on the essentials of safe riding.
- The local fire brigade will be performing 2 mock extractions.
- St Johns ambulance will be doing a first aid demo and the use of a defibrillator.
- F1 simulator.
- Mondello Park Race School.
- White River Karting.
- Bridgestone Ireland.
- RPM Motorcycles Display.
- Kennedy Motor Cycle’s Motor Cycle Display.
- Aer Lingus Motor Club displaying an array of cars.
- Vintage car display.
- Air sea rescue Helicopter (subject to operational availability).
- LMFM Roadcaster on site.
- Down Syndrome Ireland bike display.
- Largest tow truck in Ireland.
- Hog roast.
- There will be a talk given in the Garda station on acquired brain injury.
- The RSA shuttle and roll over car.
