Monday, 20th June 2016 is National Ride to Work Day in Ireland. Coordinated by MAG Ireland in association with Bike Buyers Guide, this years event is focused on getting employers to support motorcycle, scooter and moped users in the workplace.
Ride to Work Day is all about showing the positive side of motorcycling and the benefits it brings to society while raising awareness of motorcycling in your workplace and among the general public.
The RidetoWork.eu web site contains all the details you need whether you’re a rider, dealer, employer or simply interested in taking up riding a motorcycle, scooter or moped. We hope you find it useful.
Unlike many events, Ride to Work day is not a fundraiser, and there are no major organised ride outs. The event works because individual riders make a conscious effort to ride to work on the day, either on their own or in small groups.
Of course, not everyone has “work” to ride to, so some riders organise informal meet-ups for breakfast or a cuppa instead and that’s great because it’s all extra bikes on the road and a bit of craic while showing the positive side of motorcycling which are the only real aims of the event.
If you normally drive a car or van to work, why not take this opportunity to participate in something positive for Irish motorcycling? Go on, you know it makes sense!
