MAG Ireland are delighted to announce the formal launch of RideToWork.eu as we gear up for National Ride to Work Day 2014 on Monday 16th June next.
Ride to Work Day is a global event in which thousands of riders make a combined effort to raise awareness of motorcycling by simply getting on their bike and riding to work. In Ireland, the event is being co-ordinated by MAG Ireland with a the support of a number of different organisations.
RideToWork.eu was set up as a one stop shop for information and support where you can find out everything you need to know from the why to the how. We hope you find it useful.
Unlike many events, Ride to Work day is not a fundraiser, and there are no major organised ride outs. The event works because individual riders make a conscious effort to ride to work on the day, either on their own or in small groups.
Of course, not everyone has “work” to ride to, so some riders organise informal meet-ups for breakfast or a cuppa instead and that’s great because it’s all extra bikes on the road and a bit of fun which are the only real aims of the event.
What could be better than supporting Irish motorcycling by getting on your bike and enjoying your commute instead of sitting in traffic or being squashed onto public transport? If you normally drive a car or van to work, why not take this opportunity to participate in something positive for Irish motorcycling? Go on, you know it makes sense!
